John Simonis

John Simonis
Athletic Director

John Simonis was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he attended Mount Olive Lutheran School from pre-K through eighth grade. He spent his high-school years at Martin Luther High School in Greendale and continued his education at Concordia University in Mequon. Mr. Simonis graduated with a double major in Secondary Education and Physical Education and earned minors in Health, Coaching, and Adaptive PE.

After graduation, John and his wife, Mallory, moved to Houston, Texas, to serve at Lutheran South Academy. Over the next eight years, John taught high-school (HS) and middle-school (MS) physical education, sixth-grade science, and MS health classes. He also coached a variety of sports, including HS track and MS basketball, football, and soccer.

Now, at Trinity, Mr. Simonis serves as our sixth-grade homeroom teacher, our athletic director, and also teaches physical education to our first through eighth graders. John will soon begin working on his master’s degree in Educational Administration.

In his spare time, John enjoys spending time with his wife, Mallory, and their daughter, Diana.  He is also a fan of all Wisconsin sports teams. John loves watching the Packers and the Bucks, and he is a huge Milwaukee Brewers fan (“huge” meaning true-blue, dyed-in-the-wool, and card-carrying . . . you get the picture).

In John’s busy life, he is bolstered by Psalm 46:10.

Be still and know that I am God.
