Tim Gullicksrud
Band

Tim Gullicksrud is delighted to help his students develop their God-given musical talents. He considers it a blessing and a privilege.

Mr. Gullicksrud was born in Rochester, Minnesota, and attended Rochester Central Lutheran School. Playing trumpet in the fourth-grade band was the beginning of his music education. That education continued at John Marshall High School. Tim is grateful for the rich musical opportunities he experienced in and around his hometown and for Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester, where he was active in the youth group.

Tim studied at Concordia University Chicago and earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. During college he also participated in many choral and instrumental ensembles, including the renowned Concordia University Wind Symphony. Tim traveled the country with the Wind Symphony, spreading the Gospel message through music.

In 2007 Mr. Gullicksrud began teaching music at Racine Lutheran High School. There he conducts several groups: the concert choir, concert band, jazz ensemble, handbell ensemble, chamber choir, praise team, and the pep band. Tim also teaches band students at Trinity, St. John’s, Concordia, and Racine Christian, offering them private lessons and directing the grade-school beginner band and symphonic band.

First and foremost, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He likes to camp, cook, watch football (Go Vikings!), and make music. He attends concerts and events of all sorts and encourages his students to do the same.

Tim is encouraged by Psalm 46:10.

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
