Special Services

Thanksgiving

We celebrate Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving Day with a Communion Worship Service at 9:00am.

Advent

During the season of Advent we offer midweek Advent services at 6:30pm.  It is during these services that many of our school special Christmas worship services take place.  Please check the church calendar for specific dates and times.

“O, Come Let Us Adore Him, Christ the LORD!”

Lent

Lent is a very special time of year.  It is very reflective.  It gives us a chance to see how bad our condition is and how much love our God has for us.  The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday and continues during the 40 days of Lent.  (Check the church calendar for specific dates and times)  We offer Lenten dinners during these midweek services.  We begin serving at 5pm and our Lenten services begin at 6:30pm.  Generally, we try to offer a skit series to catch your attention and give you something to meditate upon.

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday has traditionally focused on Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem just a few days before His death and resurrection.

Triduum

Also known as Easter Triduum, Holy Triduum, Paschal Triduum, or The Three Days these three services begin with Maundy Thursday (which concludes with the stripping of the altar rather than the Benediction) continues with Good Friday Tenebrae Service of Darkness (which concludes with the slamming of the book indicating the closing of Christ's tomb and the exiting of the Christ Candle rather than the Benediction) and concludes with the Easter Pray Service prior to our Easter Prayer Vigil.  Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are held at 7:30pm.  The Easter Vigil takes the place of our regular Saturday service and is held at 5pm and includes the Lord's Supper.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday is the high point in the church year where we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and our own eventual resurrection.  We offer three services on Easter Sunday.  We have a Easter Sunrise Service at 6am as well as our regular worship services at 8 and 10:30am.  Easter breakfast is usually served after the 6 and 8am services.  Holy Communion is offered at the 8 and 10:30am services.
